Tutte le aste / Arte Contemporanea / Laurence JENK (1965) - Wrapping Bonbon Silver
Laurence Jenkell (born in 1965), known as JENK, is a French artist of international renown, famous for her iconic Wrapping Bonbon sculptures. Based in the south of France, she has for more than 20 years transformed a universal symbol of childhood and pleasure into a pop, contemporary work, immediately recognizable. Made in plexiglass, polyester, bronze, aluminum, marble or Murano glass, her sculptures play with color, light and the twisting movement, which have become her artistic signature. Behind the apparent indulgence of her candies lies a reflection on society, desire, the environment and collective memory. Shown in more than 50 countries, present in prestigious public and private collections, Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters, Laurence Jenkell ranks among the contemporary artists with the highest auction values internationally. Acquiring a work by Laurence Jenkell is to enter a joyful, powerful and timeless universe, where contemporary art meets emotion and collection.
