Graphite on smooth paper 48x33 cm, 220 g We’ve been given our time; it’s our duty to use it to the best of our ability... NOTES ABOUT THE ARTIST Laura Muolo, born in 1975, a Milanese by birth and currently based in Rimini. She started approaching art as a self-taught artist in 2013. Her starting medium is graphite, with which she immediately seeks the realism of faces, while she later also works with other media such as pastels and painting. She participates in numerous group shows across Italy and internationally, and her works are exhibited in important Italian museums. Her pieces are part of several private collections around the world. Four solo exhibitions to date. She collaborated on the creation of a cover for a poetry book in 2015 and for a philosophy book in 2023. Winner and finalist in several artistic competitions, both nationally and internationally. Laura describes her work this way: “I prefer oil painting for its reflective nature: it allows me to build the image step by step, changing, smoothing, perfecting. Sometimes I use pastels on cardboard to capture the essence of the subject directly and instinctively. My style is realist, but my painting tells inner worlds, hidden emotions, and stories to decipher. My works move between dreamlike landscapes and figures immersed in their own thoughts, accompanied by shadows that reveal what is not seen: desires, fears, memories. Each scene starts from photographs of young subjects and takes shape through symbols, objects, and animals that give voice to a memory or a deep feeling. Painting, for me, is a journey into the dimension of the unsaid.” Laura collaborates with the Ranarossa Galleries of Modena and Lojelo Art Gallery of Volterra ig: laura_muolo website: lauramuolo.com GENERAL INFORMATION: The work is varnished and shipped with a certificate of authenticity and securely and professionally packaged.
