Large Vivid Blue Kyanite with Lustrous Interlocking...

atural Formation - Lamellar and Prismatic Crystals — A specimen that commands attention for its size and beauty, this Blue Cyanite is a true geological monument from the fertile mineral lands of Brazil. With a weight surpassing 3.2 kilograms and a height close to 39 centimeters, this piece is a natural sculpture of rare magnificence. Its elongated, vertical form is enhanced by an elegant rotating base in black metal, custom-made to transform contemplation into a dynamic and complete experience. From a mineralogical standpoint, the specimen is a superb manifestation of the crystallization of Cyanite. Its structure is a dense and complex interweaving of lamellar and prismatic crystals that intersect in every direction, creating a tactile and visually fascinating surface. The play of light on its surface, endowed with a luster ranging from vitreous to pearly, is magnificent. The color is the true protagonist: an intense and vibrant blue, with shades spanning from deep sapphire blue to the lightest cerulean. This chromatic saturation, combined with the complexity of its form, immediately catches the eye, making Cyanite a focal point in any environment, whether it is a professional study, a modern living area, or a room of wonders for a collector. Cyanite, whose alternate name "Disthene" derives from Greek and means "double strength" due to its variable hardness, is a highly sought mineral. Finding specimens of this monumental size, with such a rich color and such aesthetically preeminent formation, is an exceptional event. This lot represents a unique opportunity to add to one’s collection a museum-quality piece, a powerful and spectacular fragment of the Earth’s creative force.
