Large Size Murex ramosus – Highly Aesthetic Shell...

Murex Ramosus - Muricidae Family — This specimen of Murex ramosus, belonging to the Muricidae family, stands out for its chiseled external structure and the perfect symmetry of its spiny expansions. It is one of the most emblematic gastropods of tropical seabeds, sought after both for scientific collections and for decorative furnishings. The external surface is richly adorned with sturdy branched expansions that recall fossil corals or Baroque architectural elements. The interior, on the other hand, presents a satinized and pearly finish that enhances the natural luminosity of the shell. Muricidae like this are active predators that live on sandy or coral seabeds, drilling their prey, especially bivalves, with the radula. The spiny shape of the shell serves not only an aesthetic function: it provides protection from predators and camouflage among rocks and corals. An ideal specimen for: tropical malacology collectors; museum or educational displays; decorations of natural or premium marine environments. Species: Murex ramosus Family: Muricidae Origin: Madagascar – Indian Ocean Color: Satin ivory with pinkish reflections Condition: Natural, untreated Ideal destination: Collection, cabinet de curiosités, marine decoratio
