Pieces of jewellery from the Victorian era are often far more than just decoration. They often carry a symbolic message, the meaning of which was immediately understood by the people of their time. This ring, which we discovered in London and which we date to around 1890, also tells such a story. Its setting of ten dark blue sapphires and small diamonds refers to love, fidelity and constancy. The deep blue gemstones are exceptionally fine natural sapphires with a total weight of 4.92 carats. The stones are untreated and have a unique, velvety color. The sapphires are accompanied by three small diamonds as highlights. All the gemstones are set in high-carat gold. The combination of gemstones has a romantic meaning.
