Lalique France - Dish - Grand Plat « Honfleur » Décoré de...

Magnificent grand platter signed LALIQUE France, famous model “Honfleur,” created by Marc Lalique in 1949, made in clear molded-pressed crystal of remarkable luminosity and surrounded by a spectacular crown of satin geranium leaves sculpted in deep relief. This elegant creation is distinguished by its wide border entirely animated with geranium leaves, arranged in a generous vegetal crown all around the platter. The satin and frosted treatment of the foliage wonderfully brings out the veins and the delicate shaping of each leaf, while the center, left perfectly transparent, catches and plays with the light, giving the whole piece a great depth. The subtle contrast between the dazzling transparency of the crystal and the almost velvety softness of the frosted decor perfectly illustrates the remarkable expertise of the Lalique House. Created in 1949, the Honfleur model possesses, with its abundant vegetal ornamentation and its leaves that seem to unfold one after another around the crystal, all the freshness of nature and that timeless elegance characteristic of Lalique creations. Beautiful and generous proportions, with a diameter of 27.5 cm and a height of 5.5 cm, this large platter is also a particularly heavy and generous piece in crystal, whose weight in the hand immediately gives it a very impressive presence. Signed, engraved “Lalique France” at the tip under the base. A magnificent decorative and collectible piece, as appealing shown alone as used as a centerpiece, where the light reveals all the finesse and depth of its spectacular foliage décor. In very good condition for its great age. Simply note a few light signs of use under the platter, perfectly consistent with its age and the passage of time. Discreet and only visible beneath the piece, they do not alter in any way the beauty or the brilliance of this magnificent Lalique crystal. Very beautiful Art Deco collectible piece that has nothing to envy from other great names of master glassmakers: Daum Nancy, Gallé, Le verre Français, Schneider, Legras...
