KPM - Figure - Porcelain

Porcelain bird figurines became popular in the 18th century, when European manufactories like Meissen and KPM Berlin began producing naturalistic animal figures. The bullfinch, or Dompfaff, was popular due to its distinctive red breast and its charming appearance. These figures were often valued as decorative collectibles in wealthy households and reflect the mastery of porcelain art. Such bird figurines are today highly sought after by porcelain collectors and lovers of naturalistic animal figures. They are prized for their craftsmanship, the faithful painting, and their historical significance in European porcelain art. Especially pieces from renowned manufactories like KPM Berlin or Meissen fetch high prices on the collectors’ market.
