Knoll International - Eero Saarinen - Ashtray - Pedestal...

Rarest and iconic floor ashtray "Pedestal" original Mid-Century Modern and Space Age, designed by the renowned architect Eero Saarinen for Knoll International (Pedestal Group collection). The top bowl in satin aluminum shows small calcium residue spots and rust marks from the iron mesh that was laid on it, solvable with proper treatments. The famous tulip base in white lacquered aluminum is well preserved and retains its vintage-era luster. Under the heavy anti-tip base are clearly embossed in relief in the alloy the original factory marks of the series ("BR 50" / Knoll trademark), partially covered by the era's protective paint layers. The piece is complete with its original metal mesh grille, a fundamental component. Conditions: Excellent vintage condition. Minimal and negligible signs of aging due to handling. Solid structure and the base lacquer is splendid. Photos are an integral part of the description.
