Executed in a dynamic Neo-Impressionistic style, the work features expressive, gestural brushwork that brings movement, texture, and light to the scene. Wain uses a vibrant, luminous palette contrasting rich, twisted bark textures with bright emerald leaves, sunlit stone ruins in the background, and warm, expressive pink and golden earth tones. Deeply connected to the Mediterranean landscape, her work offers an expressive, emotive interpretation of the surrounding environment. Drawing strong inspiration from Post-Impressionism and the bold colour theory of Fauvism, Wain uses vibrant hues, textured application, and fluid line work to capture the intrinsic energy, spirit, and light of a location. Her paintings, frequently focused on ancient olive groves, hillside pines, and sweeping terrains—seek to translate fleeting personal moments and deep emotional ties to place directly onto the canvas.
