The Pop Art KIRAS PILL'S sculpture – Series NO EXPIRATION DATE #03 — MOOD arises from the meeting of the world of pharmaceutical packaging and the world of emotions. Kiras takes the recognizable form of a pill blister and transforms it into a contemporary artistic language, replacing the traditional contents of the tablets with a sequence of expressions capable of representing different moods. The six pills thus become six small characters. Each possesses a face, an expression, and its own personality. The first pill communicates surprise through wide-open eyes and an open mouth. It is the expression of immediate astonishment, transformed into a small Pop icon. The second represents happiness. The eyes and smile build a positive, playful expression, immediately readable. The third introduces a mood that is more ironic and amused, thanks to the narrowed eye and the smile. The expression almost seems to wink at the viewer of the work. The fourth pill, on the other hand, takes emotion toward love. Heart-shaped eyes make the message immediate and transform the pill into an icon of falling in love. The fifth represents sadness, with lowered eyes and a mouth pointing downward. The simplicity of the face allows for immediate recognition of the change in emotion. The sixth finally expresses anger, through frowning eyes and clenched teeth. It is the most aggressive expression of the sequence and creates a strong contrast with the previous moods. Choosing to represent different emotions within the same blister reinforces the idea at the core of the work: just as a pill is associated with a specific function, these KIRAS PILL'S become an ironic representation of the different states of mind. The inscription NO EXPIRATION DATE takes on a particular meaning in this context. Emotions do not have a real expiration date: surprise, happiness, irony, love, sadness, and anger are part of the human experience and can return at any moment. The blister, normally associated with medicine, is thus transformed into a visual metaphor of daily life and its emotions. The orderly arrangement of the six pills also creates a strong reference to the seriality typical of Pop Art. The same format is repeated, but each element changes its expression and meaning. The yellow color common to all pills creates visual continuity, while the details of the eyes and mouth introduce the differences needed to build the different moods. The three-dimensionality adds another level to the artistic research. The pills are not simply drawn; they physically emerge from the blister, creating depth, reflections, and shadows. The presence of the inscription KIRAS - Pill's at the bottom finally identifies the work as part of a true artistic series dedicated to reinterpretation of the pill in a Pop key.
