Jules Verne - 20 titres - 1979-1979

Jules Verne – 13 complete works in 20 illustrated volumes – Éditions Famot / François Beauval – 1979 Fine set of 20 volumes of Jules Verne, published in Geneva by Éditions Famot and distributed by François Beauval in 1979. Decorative edition made on deluxe bouffant paper, with numerous illustrations reproduced from Hetzel editions of 1897. The collection includes 13 complete works: – From the Earth to the Moon – Mathias Sandorf, volumes 1 and 2 – The Black Indies – A Floating City – The Children of Captain Grant, volumes 1 to 3 – Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas, volumes 1 and 2 – The Sphinx of the Ice – Robur the Conqueror – The Castle of the Carpathians – Five Weeks in a Balloon, volumes 1 and 2 – Michael Strogoff, volumes 1 and 2 – The Green Ray – The Five Hundred Millions of the Begum Total 20 volumes, with none missing inside the proposed works. All 20 volumes have their original bookmarks. Red publisher bindings, richly decorated with gilt motifs and titles, with black title pieces and polychrome illustrations on the front boards. An especially decorative set for a library. Printed note: “Exemplaire réservé par François Beauval à ses amis bibliophiles”. Edition not numbered. This is an illustrated reissue and not an original edition. Condition: good for age. Bindings sturdy and interiors clean. Some signs of wear, light wear and natural yellowing of the paper and edges. A small deterioration is visible at the bottom of one volume. Because the bindings are still very tight, the volumes have not been fully opened to avoid damaging the hinges. All titles are visible on the photographs of the spines. A title page and several interior pages representative of this edition are shown in the photographs. Please carefully consult the photographs, which are an integral part of the description. Publisher: Éditions Famot, Geneva Distribution: François Beauval Year: 1979 Language: French Number of volumes: 20 Pagination: variable by volume Illustrations: numerous black-and-white illustrations reproduced from Hetzel editions of 1897 Bookmarks: present in all 20 volumes
