Joan Llaverias is a Catalan artist whose work embodies the appearance of colors, especially those in their pure state. As a child he began painting, Llaverias transformed all images into geometric shapes. He studied engraving, ceramics and later jewelry design in Barcelona. He has been painting for more than 25 years and clings to abstraction, which serves as a guide in his work. The abstract work of Llaverias seeks the boundaries of painting, both in form and color. His paintings refer to the hippie movement of the sixties; the artist strives to find and invent images that are not yet known or have not been used before. Llaverias’s paintings have been exhibited in Spain and abroad, especially in Europe.
