Jim Nagoya - Le Clin d'oeil

An instinctive, colorful painting that is deeply expressive. With its portraits in bold colors, fragmented features, and spontaneous gestures, Jim Nagoya develops a painting that is immediately recognizable, situated between contemporary figuration, expressionism, and urban culture. Trained at the Écoles des Beaux-Arts of Paris and Amiens, Jim Nagoya develops a personal practice nourished by the need to paint, to deconstruct the figure and to reconstruct it by color and gesture. His journey is also marked by his experience within the Street Art collective TBS, alongside Jone Hopper and SKEPA, as well as several years spent in Los Angeles, in contact with the American art scene. Back in France, his work is presented in various salons and exhibitions, notably at the Grand Palais in Paris. His works have joined private collections as well as public collections.
