Collin, is a French artist born in Paris (15th arrondissement) and who died in early 2025 at the age of 89. He long belonged to the emblematic artists of Place du Tertre in Montmartre (Paris), a high place of Parisian painting. His work is characterized by a classical minimalist sense and clean geometry. His paintings, in particular oils and gouaches, transform urban landscapes or maritime scenes into superb lines of force and linear cadences. His canvases most sought after by collectors include views of Paris, modernist urban landscapes, or series of very graphic abstract sailboats (often dated from the 1960s to the 1980s).
