Title: Jean Atlan – Abstract Composition – Work from a 20th-century art book, 1959) – 67-year-old piece Photolithography Description of the work We present a photographic lithography piece signed by Jean Atlan, depicting an abstract composition drawn from a 20th-century art book (Mazenod, 1959). A major figure of the postwar era, Jean Atlan developed a singular pictorial universe, where signs, shapes and colors build an intense and symbolic abstract language, embedded in the artistic explorations of the mid-20th century. This piece has traversed time today with 67 years of existence, constituting a direct testimony of this period of modern creation and of the great experiments in abstraction.
