Jean-Louis Baudelocque - L'Art des accouchemens - 1781

Rare two-volume illustrated set with 17 folded plates from this major edition of French obstetrics and a testament to the advances in medicine devoted to pregnancy, birth, and care for women in labor. French physician and obstetrician born in 1745 and died in 1810, Baudelocque established himself as one of the most influential figures of his era in the art of obstetrics, thanks to his teaching, his clinical experience, and his efforts to establish delivery methods based on anatomical observation and precise knowledge of the mechanisms of birth.
