The vertical composition guides the eye through a canyon of skyscrapers after rain, where the wet asphalt acts as a mirror that fragments and multiplies light into multicolored flashes, while silhouettes with umbrellas traverse the avenue. Through a masterful spatula technique with textured, impasto brushstrokes, the artist captures the energy and the dynamic rhythm of the modern city, while also conveying an atmosphere of urban melancholy, dynamism, and the poetic beauty that springs from daily life under the rain.
