Jardinière - Mythological - Spelter - Cherubim

Magnificent Napoleon III–style jardinière made in technical zinc from the 19th century, a piece with strong French influence that combines ornamental richness and sculptural mastery. Its elegant cup-shaped body presents abundant relief decoration with floral and vegetal motifs, finely worked across the entire surface, evoking the naturalist and ornate taste characteristic of Second Empire decoration. One of the most notable elements of the composition are the two side cherubs acting as supporting figures, modeled with great delicacy and dynamism. These childlike representations add volume, movement, and a pronounced Romantic character to the piece, reinforcing its artistic quality and decorative value. The cup rises on a pierced base of lush Rococo forms, enriched with volutes, scrolls, and ornamental motifs that give visual lightness to the whole despite its solid presence. The surface retains an attractive patina from the passage of time, with wear, oxidations, and chromatic variations inherent to the antiquity of zinc, features that enhance its historical authenticity and decorative charm. These signs of use are consistent with a 19th-century piece and attest to its long history. This is a jardinière of notable decorative and sculptural quality, ideal as a centerpiece, display item, or ornamental element in classical, eclectic, or Parisian-inspired interiors. Its combination of refined ornamentation, allegorical theme, and noble patina makes it an excellent example of Napoleonic III taste in decoration and the virtuosity of 19th-century artistic metalwork. Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
