Jan Snoeck (1927 - 2018) studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where he graduated in 1949. In 1953 he worked for a year in Ossip Zadkine's studio in Paris. Initially, Jan Snoeck worked with stone, wood and bronze. Later he mainly worked in ceramics. He uses bright, primary colors and his subjects are usually people. Among other things, he made the beds for the MCH Westeinde hospital in The Hague. Snoeck's predominantly monumental works are found both in the Netherlands and abroad. Works by Snoeck are in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Municipal Museum The Hague, the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem and the Princessehof Museum in Leeuwarden.
