J. F. Groot (XIX-XX) - Klassiek Hollands riviergezicht...

Beautiful and atmospheric classic painting from the Dutch School (circa 1900). The artwork depicts an idyllic Dutch water landscape in the style of the old masters, with traditional fishing boats at a quay beside historic brick buildings, and a characteristic church tower on the horizon. The work stands out for its refined handling of light on the cloudscape and the reflection in the calm water. The painting is signed bottom right with J. F. Groot. The oil painting is executed on a wooden panel and is housed in a very rich, heavy gold-colored ornamental frame in Baroque/Rococo style, giving the artwork a museum-like and luxurious appearance. • Technique: Oil paint on wooden panel (Oil/Wood) • Signature: Signed bottom right by J.F. Groot • Period: circa 1900 • Panel dimensions: 29 x 39 cm with frame B 74 x H 64 • Frame: Includes the monumental, gilded decorative frame. • Condition: The painting is in good, presentable condition and has been expertly restored in the past. The frame shows slight signs of aging appropriate for its age. The lot is packed with utmost care and professionalism (using ample bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard) and shipped with tracking.
