Italian school (XIX) - Madonna con bambino

Italian School XIX - Madonna with Child and a Religious in Prayer, 1823. Oil painting on canvas from 1823, attributed to the Italian school of the 19th century, is strongly influenced by academic classicism and by the Emiliano- Bolognese painting tradition. The work depicts the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus with gentle and idealized features that recall the styles of Sassoferrato and Raphael, while presenting the Savior to a religious figure in prayer. The prelate's face is painted with strong portrait realism and the man holds in his hands a sacred text with the clearly legible inscription "orazioni in onore di Maria Vergine". Good overall condition, with normal signs of aging. Dimensions of the painting without the frame:(58x77,5). The work will be shipped with professional, tailor-made packaging, protected by layers of bubble wrap and reinforced cardboard to ensure the total integrity of both the canvas and the gilded frame during transport.
