Islamic Silver Ring with Engraved Lapis Lazuli – 17th to 19th Century AD An Islamic silver finger ring set with a large oval lapis lazuli stone bearing a worn engraved design. The blue surface displays variations in colour, with darker areas and lighter inclusions visible around the shallow carving. The stone sits within a raised bezel edged by a narrow decorative border, above a substantial mount ornamented with scrolling vegetal motifs. Open spaces beneath the setting and rounded details at the shoulders give the ring an elaborate profile, while the hoop narrows towards the back. Darkened recesses contrast with the brighter silver surfaces, highlighting the decoration. The stone and mount retain scratches, abrasions and softened details; the engraving is not sufficiently clear to offer a reliable reading.
