A deep blue, natural sapphire and a white brilliant-cut diamond come together in this solid white gold ring as if in a dance. The juxtaposition of these two protagonists identifies the design as a so-called toi-et-moi piece of jewelry - a type of jewelry of the most romantic nature, which in the past usually served as a gift of love. As early as 1900, designs with two opposing, similar elements - be it gemstones or pearls - were very popular. People loved to play with symbols. In the understanding of the time, the gemstones were supposed to represent two lovers facing each other: Independent and yet inseparably connected, their unity symbolically immortalized in a piece of jewelry. In this ring from the 1970s, the two partners - a brilliant-cut diamond of around 1.20 ct with excellent color and clarity and a natural, one-and-a-half-carat sapphire - are set in 18-karat white gold.
