Iceland 1897 - Rare minting 14 × 13½ -3/5 Aurar...

Extraordinarily beautiful postage stamp! in this perforation 14X13 1/2 very rarely offered! Rare perforation 14 × 13½ – only about 3,800 copies (1897–1902) Iceland 1897 – 3/5 Aurar provisional „þrir“ (smal) Facit No. 32 – AFA No. 18AI Already the rare perforation 14 × 13½ makes this issue a sought-after rarity within the classic Icelandic provisionals. Take a look at the stamp — a single piece to have only once! in this cleanliness and perfection. 129 years old! and so beautiful! Facit 25,000 Kr With a comparatively small edition of only about 3,800 copies in the period 1897–1902, it is clearly among the very rare 14X13 1/2 variants. The rarity: Because sheets with the perforation 14 × 13½ were scarce at that time in 1897 at the post offices, the overprint stamp only reached about 38 sheets (of 100 stamps each). This yields the historically attested, extremely low edition of ca. 3,800 pieces. The present exemplar also impresses with exceptional quality: • Excellent, perfect centering • Very clean and even perforation (14 × 13½) • Clear, decorative cancellation (“Reykjavík”) • Fresh, vivid color with excellent overall impression • Flawless condition – no faults, no objections Especially with this rare perforation, high-quality pieces are hard to find. This specimen clearly belongs to the top quality class and ranks among the more attractive pieces that rarely appear on the market. Signed “H.W.” (Harry Wennberg) and inspected with certificate by Carl Aage Møller (AIEP): Genuine and unrestored. An exceptional collectible piece with high rarity and excellent optics – missing in this quality in most advanced Iceland collections. Shipped insured.
