Hutschenreuther, Bavaria - Serving plate (7) - Porcelain - Lobster Service

Magnificent German porcelain service from the prestigious Hutschenreuther Selb, Bavaria, attributed to the first half of the 20th century, possibly the 1920s–1930s. The set consists of six plates and a large serving platter, all decorated with a splendid naturalistic depiction of a lobster in intense reddish and copper tones, which elegantly contrasts with the whiteness of the porcelain. The decoration stands out for the careful rendering of the crustacean, the richness of its shades, and the delicate treatment of light and shadow, which give depth and realism to the composition. In the central, generously sized platter, the lobster is accompanied by marine motifs, creating an especially attractive presentation. The sobriety of the forms, the gloss of the glaze, and the uniqueness of its decoration make this service a piece of notable interest for collectors of German porcelain, historical tableware, and objects related to gastronomy and the art of the table. The set bears the Hutschenreuther Selb, Bavaria, mark. Composed of six plates of 24 cm in diameter and a serving platter measuring 35 × 23 cm. An elegant and uncommon seven-piece composition, with a magnificent presence both for use at a distinguished table and for display in a European porcelain collection.
