Hung Richard is a graduate of the Hanoi University of Fine Arts and is a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. An Ode to Vietnam Born in 1966 in Can Tho, in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Hung Richard is an artist whose work celebrates the visual richness and serenity of Vietnam. Deeply influenced by the lush landscapes of his native region, he has developed a pictorial technique that captures with great sensitivity both daily life and the majesty of nature. His style is characterized by vibrant color usage and an ability to imbue a poetic atmosphere into each of his subjects. Whether depicting the gentle bustle of a historic street or the monumental quiet of the Vietnamese mountains, Hung Richard transforms familiar scenes into deeply evocative compositions. His paintings reflect careful observation: He tenderly captures traditional architecture, revealing the soul of houses nestled in generous nature. He dynamically portrays rural life, animal movement, and scenes of everyday life. He masters the play of light, whether the golden reflections of late day or the mystical glow of sunsets on marine landscapes. A prolific artist, Hung Richard continues to explore the timeless beauty of his country, inviting the viewer to a peaceful contemplation through oils on canvas imbued with authenticity and emotion.
