Hundreds of Chondrules

Hundreds of Chondrules

The meteorite of this lot is a final cut with a polished window to view the interior of one of the last classifications worldwide of meteorites of the rumuruti chondrite type (stony meteorite) found in the Sahara Desert. We can appreciate its natural exterior on one side, and on the polished surface we can contemplate hundreds of chondrules of great beauty!!! One of the few that will go on sale. Absolutely spectacular. Chondrite-type R owes its name to the first specimen of this type that was seen fall in the town of Rumuruti (Kenya) in 1934. They form a rare group of chondrites, which although shares many features with ordinary chondrites such as similar chondrules, few refractory inclusions or similar chemical composition, differ from them in that they show a higher proportion of fine-grained matrix, clasts of various lithologies of the parent body, and contain little iron in the form of metallic particles; almost all the metal they contain is oxidized or in the form of sulfides. Chondrites contain the oldest materials we can find in the solar system, with an estimated age of more than 4.55 billion years. An excellent opportunity to add this wonder of the universe to your collection. We are members of the main international associations related to meteorites, so we guarantee for life the authenticity of all our meteorites and jewelry made with this material. Buy with guarantees. - Members of IMCA with number #7412 (International Meteorite Collectors Association) - Members of GMA with number #G0095 (Global Meteorite Association) - Members of The Meteoritical Society with number #6667 Regards and our best wishes.
