A refined Danish Modern credenza designed by Carlo Jensen for Hundevad & Co., Vamdrup, Denmark, circa 1960s. The case is crafted in beautifully grained teak, combining a bank of three dovetailed drawers with sculpted teak pulls on the right with an open storage compartment featuring three fixed shelves on the left, ideal as a sideboard, entryway console, or media unit. The case rests on elegant tapered solid teak legs joined by a stretcher, a hallmark of Hundevad & Co.'s quality construction and typical of Carlo Jensen's clean, functional design language from this period. Hundevad & Co. was renowned during the golden age of Danish furniture-making for its exceptional joinery and space-conscious designs, frequently collaborating with designer Carlo Jensen on credenzas, cabinets and sideboards that remain highly sought after today. The reverse bears an old paper tag from "Garde-Meuble Nortier," 36 Rue Chauveau, Neuilly-sur-Seine, a French furniture storage company, indicating the piece was held in professional storage in the Paris area at some point in its history and pointing to a European ownership chain.
