HONG KONG (SAR). Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation. 5 Dollars

HONG KONG (SAR). Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation. 5 Dollars, 1.1.1938. P-173b. KNB60l. PMG About Uncirculated 50. H prefix. Excellent, vintage, hand signed note with a print run of 400,000 from H300001 to H700000. A most delightful AUNC example with almost full, bold and original colours. Given the tumultuous period during WW2, when Hong Kong citizens were forced to exchange Hong Kong Dollars into Military Yen, it is no small miracle that this note survives into the present day in this condition.
