Höfner - Guitare Classique - - Classical guitar - Germany...

Höfner 515h – Concert classical guitar – Germany – 1972 – with case Description Beautiful concert classical Höfner guitar, made in Germany in 1972, in a remarkable state of conservation. The original label visible inside the soundhole bears the mentions “Made by Höfner – Anno 1972 – Made in Germany,” allowing the instrument to be dated precisely. In terms of characteristics and dimensions, this guitar corresponds to the Höfner 515 model, introduced in the late 1960s, and most likely to its glossy finish variant 515h. The body dimensions match those documented for the 515 model: - upper bout width: about 275 mm - lower bout width: about 365 mm - depth: 90 mm - overall length: 990 mm The guitar features an elegant light top as well as a very beautiful back and strongly figured maple sides, whose flames show particularly well under the gloss finish. The dark purflings, the decorative rosette and the carved slotted headstock are characteristic of Höfner German production from that period. The instrument has been particularly well preserved for over fifty years. It naturally presents a few small scratches and signs of use corresponding to its age, but these remain minimal and are visible in the photographs. The neck, fretboard, bridge and tuners are complete and in very good overall condition. The guitar is playable. The strings currently mounted show only slight oxidation and can be replaced according to the future owner’s preferences. The guitar is sold with its Tobago soft case visible in the photographs.
