Rare sample book from the large Frankfurt chemical company Hoechst with an overview of the various dyes, their solubility and uses. A second part on coal tar dyes, 'Their Application in Dyeing Cotton and other Vegetable Fibres', was later published. Title and frontispiece loose, a few fabric samples removed.
