Helen Chandler Signed & Inscribed Photo - JSA

Helen Chandler signed and inscribed sepia-toned photograph by an unknown photographer, approximately 9-7/8" x 12-7/8". Inscribed at lower right, "For Dorothy from Beatty who ain't so dead as she looked Love Helen." The inscription appears to reference Chandler's role as Beattie Williams in the 1930 film "Mothers Cry," and may have been presented to actress Dorothy Peterson, who co-starred in the film as Mary Williams. The personal wording and use of Chandler's character name create an interesting association with the film. Signature has been authenticated by JSA (CL31208). Photograph shows light age-related wear. Please examine photos for individual condition and details. Estimate $200 - $400
