H. M. Locatelli ( - Cascata incantatrice

The painting was found in the attic of my deceased grandfather. Attached is the provenance certificate. The painting is an oil on canvas mounted in a contemporary style executed in 1999, made as a faithful and refined art reproduction in a 18th-century style. It is not an antique 18th-century piece, but a modern pictorial work created for antique and high-end interior decoration. Copyist masters and workshop painters create new paintings inspired by great themes of the past (in this case the Arcadian landscapes of the 18th century), using old frames or specially treated canvases to integrate perfectly into settings furnished with antique or designer furniture. The author, M. H. Locatelli, is the master painter/copyist who actually executed the painting for the Falconio collection in 1999, demonstrating notable technical skill in recreating the golden atmospheres, the transparency of the water, and the vegetation typical of 18th-century vedutismo.
