Feuervergoldete und dunkel patinierte Bronze mit Marmorelementen, architektonisch gegliedertes Gehäuse auf verzierten Standfüßen mit aufgesetzten Bronzeapplikationen und Marmoreinlagen, Schauseite mit neobarocken Rocaillen und Blattwerk, Mittig angeordnetes, weiß emailliertes Zifferblatt. Mechanisches Uhrwerk mit Halbstunden- und Stunden-Schlag auf Glocke. Bekrönung durch eine vollplastisch ausgearbeitete Gladiatorenfigur in nachdenklicher Haltung. HxBxT: ca. 56/54/21 cm. Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, stellenweise berieben, Werk läuft kurz an (wohl reinigungsbedürftig), Vollständigkeit der Zierapplikationen nicht geprüft. | LARGE ORNATE CLOCK WITH GLADIATOR FIGURE, Late 19th century. Fire-gilded and darkly patinated bronze with marble elements; architecturally structured case on ornate pedestals with applied bronze fittings and marble inlays; front featuring neo-Baroque rocaille and foliage; centrally positioned, white-enamelled dial. Mechanical movement with half-hour and hourly chimes on a bell. Crowned by a fully sculpted figure of a gladiator in a pensive pose. HxWxD: approx. 56/54/21 cm. Signs of age and wear, scuffed in places; the movement runs briefly (probably in need of cleaning); the completeness of the decorative appliqués has not been checked.
