GRISI GIULIA: (1811-1869) Italian opera Singer. One of the leading sopranos of the 19th century. Both Rossini and Bellini took interest in her, being the first to play the role of Adalgisa in Bellini´s opera Norma in Milan. Donizetti wrote the parts of Norina and Ernesto in his opera Don Pasquale for Grisi and Giovanni Matteo de Candia, known as ''Mario the Tenor'', who was to become the love of her life and her future husband. A.L.S., `G. Grisi´, three pages, 8vo, n.p., Friday 28th, n.y., in French. Grisi seems a bit anxious, wishing to conclude a deal, stating in part `For God´s sake try and get this contract signed once and for all, so that the business can begin.
