GRESSET. *Ver-vert*, followed by *La Chartreuse*, *L'Abbaye*, and other pieces. Miniature edition. No place, no publisher [Printed by Ernest Meyer; typefaces cast by Laurent and Deberny], 1855. In-64 (57 x 35 mm), dark green morocco leather, diamond-and-rectangle pattern decoration with filigree metalwork in the spandrels, large fleur-de-lis designed with small metalwork in the center featuring a quatrefoil in the middle, decorated spine, interior lace trim, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Edition set in microscopic type with 33 lines per page; the printing is a true feat of typography. Exquisite lowercase letters in a delicate, tastefully decorated binding. We believe the bookbinder’s signature was originally located at the top of the first endpaper (this inscription has been erased).
