GREEK GOLD SWIVEL RING WITH AGATE SCARAB ENGRAVED WITH APHRODITE VICTRIX

Ca. 500 BC. A gold swivel ring with a substantial round-section hoop and terminals wrapped with tightly coiled wire. The agate scarab is mounted on a transverse pin, with a plain convex back and a flat underside engraved with Aphrodite Victrix standing on a groundline, her head turned to the left. Her left hand rests on her hip, and her raised right hand holds a long spear.
