GREEK GOLD SWIVEL RING WITH AGATE SCARAB ENGRAVED WITH A LION HUNTING A DEER

Ca. 500 - 400 BC. A gold swivel ring with a rounded hoop and terminals bound with coiled wire and finished with globular finials. The banded agate scarab is mounted within a narrow gold frame on a transverse pin, with a plain convex back and a flat underside engraved with a lion attacking a deer, its forepaws set against the animal and its head lowered towards the body.
