The piece is attributed to Technik-Meister Da Costa or is designated accordingly by the original ground inscription. Design and execution The approximately 21 cm tall Solifleur vase impresses with its striking, organic form. The slim, elegantly curved neck displays a characteristic smoky brown tint and transitions into an exceptionally substantial, clear base. Particularly appealing is the heavy glass base with its plastically realized bubble- and facet-relief. Through the different glass structures, fascinating light refractions arise, giving the object a new effect depending on the lighting angle. The vase was made from hand-blown, thick-walled art glass and shows typical features of high-quality studio glass works. The base is professionally flat-ground and bears the complete original signature.
