Tutte le aste / Libri, Mappe & Manoscritti / Goldoni; Voltaire; Alexandre Dumas; Paul Claudel...

Set of 4 volumes from the prestigious Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, published by Gallimard, bringing together four major authors of French and European literature. Leather-soft bindings, with their original transparent rhodoid protectors. Composition of the lot: 1. Carlo Goldoni – Theatre. Edition introduced by Paul Renucci, with a chronology by Michel Arnaud and notes by Anna Fontes. Printed in September 1989, first legal deposit 1972. 2. Voltaire – Novels and Tales. Text established and annotated by René Groos. Printed in 1950. 3. Alexandre Dumas – The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After. Edition presented and annotated by Gilbert Sigaux. Printed in December 1982, first legal deposit 1962. 4. Paul Claudel – Theatre. Introduction and chronology by Jacques Madaule. Printed in 1956. Condition report: The four volumes feature very fresh, clean interiors and are well preserved. The bindings show signs of wear to varying degrees, notably a few foxing spots and marks on the covers. The Voltaire volume shows more pronounced wear at the upper cap as well as a tear to the rhodoid. The other volumes show some exterior defects, small tears or marks on the transparent protectors. The Dumas volume is in good overall condition, with a well-preserved binding and rhodoid. Overall in used condition, not free of defects, but with interiors that are especially clean and pleasant. See photographs to assess precisely the condition of the volumes. Beautiful set of four classics from the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, ideal for completing a literary library.
