This is a 'Batman' vase by designer Carina Riezebos, blown at Royal Leerdam Crystal. Features • Design: Carina Riezebos (2010) • Material: Mouth-blown crystal with a clear foot, a white exterior, and a striking red core/inside • Dimensions: Approximately 33 x 13.5 x 13.5 cm This “vase” has never been used as a vase, so there is no water residue or other blemishes. The vase is built using the Sommerso technique of three glass layers with a red inner layer, then a white layer, and finally finished with a transparent outer layer and foot. This makes the white and red layers appear to float. Carina Riezebos’s work is distinguished by strength and simplicity of design. The vases, carafes, and bowls are crafted with care and craftsmanship and exude quality and individuality. Carina Riezebos (1971) studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven (1992) and subsequently at the Arnhem University of the Arts (1995). In late 2009 Carina began as house designer for Royal Leerdam Crystal: a title that places her in a long line of designers. For Royal Leerdam Crystal she designs new collections and a lot of business-to-business work, and she mainly designs unica and serica. The vase will be carefully packaged, insured, and shipped with track and trace.
