The motif of the bow runs through the last centuries of jewelry design. Once a favorite of the lively Rococo era, bow shapes also experienced various fashions in the following eras. Art Deco is no exception, which is actually associated with angular, geometric designs - but this is precisely how the playful bow motif was stylized in the 1920s. This necklace is a particularly appealing representative of this type of jewellery and impresses with its precious materials, excellent workmanship and glamorous shape. It features a platinum bow on a delicate white gold chain. Its surface is completely set with octagonal and baguette-cut diamonds. Fine millegrains dissolve the shape into a play of white light reflections. This makes the pendant appear ethereal and airy. A beautiful oval old Mine cut diamond is suspended from the composition. The pendant was created in the 1930s and was made in platinum, typical of the time. The slightly stylized shape, which is reminiscent of the fabric panels of so-called drapery jewellery, also speaks for this period of origin. The piece was probably originally an emerging modern clip brooch, which was later modified. The movably attached diamond with its white gold setting was added at this time. This elegant piece came to us from Hanover. It comes with an independent appraisal by the Munich jeweller Gerd Kaddick.
