In his youth, he set sail for Latin America, visiting Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, destinations where several private collections of his paintings are found. During his stay in Paris, he decided to personally contact Claude Monet and Paul Cézanne, both of whom greatly influenced his style. In his art, he was initially very close to Post-Impressionism and later to Fauvist painting, with a tactile and aggressive brushwork. Giulio Romano Vercelli did not dedicate himself to a single genre, but ranged from genre scenes to landscapes, sacred painting and still life. In Italy, recognition came only with his participation in the Venice Biennales of 1920 and 1922. The painter died in Turin in 1951. Giosuè Alessandro Giuseppe Carducci (Valdicastello, July 27, 1835 – Bologna, February 16, 1907) was an Italian poet, writer and literary critic.
