Gilded pyrite aesthetics

From our collection of mineral specimens, we propose a splendid group of Pyrite crystals originating from the island of Elba. Moreover, it features crystals with a pentagonal dodecahedral habit in a golden color, arranged on a matrix, which enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with characteristics that highlight its natural structure and visual impact. The island of Elba, and in particular the Rio Marina mining district, has been known since Etruscan times for its iron deposits, where pyrite is often found as an accessory mineral alongside hematite and magnetite. Pyrite (FeS2, iron sulfide) owes its typical golden color and metallic luster to its chemical composition and crystallizes in the cubic system; at Rio Marina it is famous for the development of crystals with a pentagonal dodecahedral habit, one of the most characteristic and sought-after forms of the species. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for rare exceptions always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best showcase colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
