This object is an antique engraved glass, specifically a tulip-shaped goblet (gobelet de forme tulipe or tumbler). This type of glassware was especially popular in the late 18th century (circa 1770–1800). Such goblets were often manufactured in France, Germany (Bohemia), or the Northern Netherlands. Dimensions: H= 9.2 cm - W= 7.3 cm - D= 5.6 cm Weight: 160.80 grams Condition: fully intact - no damage Shape: The glass has a broad, slightly flaring rim (tulip shape) that is typical of French and Central European wedding or monogram goblets from the Empire and Restoration periods. Monogram: Centered on the glass is a graceful, calligraphic initial "D", placed within a detailed cartouche or shield with fringe.
