Descriptio Oil on canvas, signed lower right. Dimensions: 91 × 72 cm. Original work by the Indonesian Impressionist painter G.A. Kadir, trained under the influence of the Danish artist van Russel (1898–1975) and active in Bogor (West Java) during the first half of the 20th century. The painting depicts a serene view of an Indonesian village, executed with the loose, luminous brushstrokes characteristic of the tropical Impressionist style. The title Bungur Tjianjur, the work number “432”, and the artist’s signature and address appear on the reverse. A piece of significant pictorial and historical value within modern Southeast Asian art. Provenance: private collection. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU).
