FRENCH INDO-CHINA. Piastre, 1890-A. Paris Mint. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, AU Details. KM-5; Gad-34; Lec-272. Mintage: 6,108. A most elusive KEY DATE of the series, this example presents bright, flashy surfaces with a great deal of remaining luster on the reverse. Some light, even wear touches the devices, but a strong strike leaves them precise and bold in definition. The noted damage touches upon the top of the obverse but detracts little from the overall warm gray nature. A desirable and RARE offering of this issue with great charm and appeal. Estimate: $5,000 - $8,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
