A hand-turned stoneware bottle vase, made by the Dutch ceramic artist Freek Berends (1945 - 2025) in his studio in Echten. The vase has a bulbous body and a slender, upright neck. Executed in a matte, sandy-colored glaze with a finely speckled texture (pyrite speckles). The piece is representative of Dutch studio pottery from the late 20th century and bears witness to Berends's characteristic throwing technique. In nice condition. a small glaze flake near the rim.
