At the neck area hand-signed with “Löhr.” Attributable to the German sculptor Franz Löhr (1874–1918) (Cologne/Düsseldorf School, influenced by his stay in Paris with Auguste Rodin). The lively, restless surface treatment gives the sculpture a strong impressionist character. The two-tier marble base is sturdy and completes the piece perfectly.
