Tutte le aste / Altro / François-Théodore Legras - Vase - Splendid vase...
Superb and authentic Art Nouveau era vase (circa 1900) in blown glass with amber color throughout, produced by the famous François-Théodore Legras & Cie manufactory in Saint-Denis. This iconic model, though unsigned, but numbered, is referenced as “Lavallière” in contemporary glass catalogs as well as in the book Théodore LEGRAS by Marie-Françoise & Jean-François Michel, Manufacture d'Histoires Deux-Ponts décors "Forme LAVALLIERE" page 278 reference 0782. It is characterized by a domed base with regular ribs and a widely flared neck, animated by gadroons and hotly festooned by the master glassmaker with a hand-forged edge. The piece features a magnificent enamel and hand-painted decoration representing a bouquet of field daisies in white and pink, enhanced by small blue forget-me-nots and greenery. The base of the bouquet is elegantly encircled by a blue enamel ribbon, a motif highly sought after by the Legras house. Under the smooth base lies the molded number 4, corresponding to the technical mold number used in the workshop during blowing. Non-signed (as is the case with the vast majority of Legras folk-art productions in this range, but form and décors perfectly cataloged and authenticated). Sublime piece of rare beauty; don’t miss this auction. With the End-of-Year holidays approaching, start thinking about your gifts now, or simply treat yourself. Happy bidding to all. As with all my items listed for auction on this site, this marvel has undergone no cleaning (just dusting), nor modification since purchase. Happy bidding to all. Please look carefully at the photos, which are part of the description. Any damage not mentioned in the text but visible in the photos is considered described. No shipping outside the EU; if you are outside the European Union you can bid on one of my lots; however no claim will be possible in case of problems during transport. Professional careful shipping, with signature and insurance.
